Tesco Express, Merrylee Road, Glasgow
The Brief
Acting as both Developer and Contractor, PA Contract Services acquired The White Elephant Pub on Merrylee Road in Glasgow. Working in close collaboration with Tesco, we transformed a disused pub into a new Tesco Express retail unit.
Contributing to our ongoing sustainability targets, Zest Eco Ltd have also taken spaces in the car cark, providing electric car charging facilities to Tesco visitors and the residents of Glasgow.

What We Did
Works included partial demolition, strip out, re-roofing, external facades, windows, and external works.
Paul and the PA Contracts team have delivered an excellent product at Birkenhead and Market Drayton, both on time. We also have then on site with our Glasgow, Merrylee project.
The wider growth team, especially the project managers and development managers are extremely impressed with their professionalism.
We are also looking at various opportunities with them across the UK which will help drive Tesco’s growth strategy for Express convenience stores.
